Mr. Yuan got his bachelor of engineering from Tianjin University, China. His background is Biochemical Engineering.
Now he is a M.Sc. Candidate in Pharmaceutical Production Research Facility (PPRF) from Department of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering,University of Calgary. His research is focusing on examining bioreactor expansion and production of Embryonic Stem Cells (ESCs) and Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) and evaluating the efficient differentiation of these stem cells to Nucleus Pulposus cells for the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration, which is the main factor to cause low back pain and costing the North American economies some $50-100 billion per year.
